Another lovely week in this lovely place, despite the weather -
all future guests will have great weather as we've had all your
rain! We loved this cottage so much last year we brought the
in-laws this time and now they love it too!
Even if its rainy here, worth risking a drive around Dingle or the
Ring of Kerry - we had lovely days out and the drive up to
Avoca at Molls Gap takes some beating.
Thanks again Malcolm and Carmel for your hospitality and this
smashing cottage - we'll be back (Can we have some sunshine
please?!!)
The Carr Family UK Aug 08
We truly enjoyed our time at Wren cottage - old world charm
with all mod cons. The views. the stream, the cottage and all of
its amenities were first class. The weather was also great!! I
have no difficulty recommending Wren Cottage as first class
accommodation in an excellent location.
Duffy Family C Antrim july 08
The cottage itself was superb, definitely 5 star quality. We would
highly recommend it! The views were beautiful especially first
thing in the morning as we were able to stand out the back and
watch the cows and horses each morning. The stream was an
additional entertainment for us younger girls as we bought
wellington boots and walked up it and sometimes got a bit wet!
we also discovered some lizards as we took a stroll up the lane.
Thank you for everything! (The scones were beautiful, Yummy)
McKinny family Belfast. july 08
Liz worked hard at finding a nice cottage in the Killarney area
and she couldnt have done better than Wren Cottage. The cows
and Horses delighted John, The stream lulled us to sleep, even
when swollen with heavy rain! A great spot to day trip from.
Yesterday we climbed torc on Malcolms advice, I guess we're not
as fit as we thought! Thanks for renovating Wren cottage.
Liz, David & John july 08
The weather could have been better, but the cottage could not
have been better!! Its a magic place: from outside a witch house
and from the inside a dream!! Thanks for the terrific leather sofa
and nice towels and linen. It's a big effort to drag my family out
of here.
Anne, Maeve and Christian Frankfurt, Germany. July 08
The weather went on holiday a bit but a lot of sites to do. When I
first saw the Wren Cottage I was thankful that the date was not
taken after seeing so many cottages that need a new life. I can
see the love Malcolm put in. My wifes great, great grandfather's
last name was Wrinn and staying in the wren cottage was a
blessing.
Many blessing s from Palatka Fl. USA June 08
We may not have been blessed with the best weather during
our stay, but we feel blessed in every other way. This has been
a wonderful holidayand everything a holiday should be. The
cottage has been a revelation, an amazing blend of old and
new, both inside and out. We loved it. And we loved Killarney
and Kerry - all summed up for us by the view from the top of
torc mountain (which we walked on the sunniest and best day of
our week. Thank you
David and Judith. N. Yorks UK. May 08
Absolutely perfect! you've done a beautiful job with the cabin.
Love the feeling of it. Got beautiful weather , this is a perfect
location for exploring and just for relaxing on the occasional rainy
day. Thanks very much.

What a wonderful weekin the Kingdom! Wren cottage is
absolutely perfect, as was the weather, glorious sunshine every
day. Each morning breakfast was shared with different guests
from the swallows that flew into the cottage, the dwellin Robins
competing for the bits and the highlight was the elusive Otter
paddling up stream!!
Huge thanks to Malcolm and Carmel for their hospitality and
warm welcome. I'm sure we will be back

Thanks for sharing the wonderful results of your renovation of
"wren" Perfect layout for two couples with bedrooms at opposite
ends. We had great weather to our surprise but couldn't resist
the cosy effect of the log stove at night. We've loved retreating
here after each days sightseeing and can't recommend it highly
enough for young and old alike. We feel so lucky to have been.
Mr & Mrs O'Brien (junior and senior) UK May 08
Wonderful, magical place! Everything we could wish for and
more. We swear the pillows are drugged. Or maybe its just the
Kerry air! If you ever want to sell up we want first refusal -
heavenly cottage! Thanks for the welcome pack, lovely scones
and the wine went down a treat. See you next year!
Richard and Hilary, Surrey, UK April 08
Thank you so much for the warm welcome. Fantastic home
made scones. Outside in the evening sunshine. An ideal location
to explore Kerry and the dingle peninsula and a fantastic
thatched cottage to return home to. Warm and welcoming.
Thanks a million for a wonderful week in Ireland - a hidden gem!

It is difficult to add anything to the comments already made in this
book. We have had a wonderful week, weather fine, walking and
scenery spectacular. Scaled torc mountain (affectionately known
as "Malcolm's gym") worth every step for the view.

What a gorgeous place to spend the week. Just perfect. Many
thanks.

A magical place (our first time in a thatched cottage) The perfect
weather was matched only by your generous hospitality. We'll
be back!

thank you for the warm welcome.

Gorgeous cottage, lovely hosts. Was a pleasure to visit Ireland. A
visit to Kerry crafted glass is well worth it, the craftsman
demonstrates how its not made in china. pick up  a piece of hand
made glass for under 10€, honest, but well worth the money.
Hunter family, North Yorkshire, UK 22/9/07
Thank you for this wonderful cottage. The stream, stone and
comfort...we never wanted to leave!
Excellent location close (but not too close) to Killarney and all the
sites. This was everything we could have hoped for in a
"cottage", cheers.
The Laidlaws, London, England 8/9/07
We have been visiting Ireland for many years now(our eldest
daughter is an Irish dancer). We have stayed in many cottages in
different counties, but
never have we stayed in such a gem. We
congratulate you both on its restoration. It is quite unique and
such a rare diamond. It is
so very clean and welcoming.
We look forward to returning to Wren cottage soon and we thank
you for your hospitality.
Lorraine, Phil and Victoria. Staffordshire, UK 1/9/07
What a fantastic place. Emily calls it the fluffy house! Had a great
week, weather not too bad so scenery was beautiful. If you can
drag yourself away from your glass of wine by the stream, go to
the Aghadoe Heights on a sunny evening - breathtaking views,
sublime steak! (also the cafe du parc in the town by the ponies
was surprisingly good, and cheap for lunch). Thank you so much
for a fabulous time!
Steve, Gaynor, Rhian, (13) Emily (4) Sheffield, UK 25/8/07
Great cottage....kids loved stream! walked to top of torc - very wet
but worth it for glimpses of views. O'Sullivans cascade good walk.
Recommend trip to Blasket and 2 hour fishing trip from Dingle -
caught at least 40 fish.

Beautiful cottage, we loved sitting by the river and watching the
birds. Thank you for your hospitality and the delicious scones. We
enjoyed Mucross, torc mountain and Mangerton. Didn't enjoy the
irate farmer on the Dingle way. We will be back with our bikes to try
O'Sullivans cascade!

A lovely cottage in the perfect location. Mixed weather, but still able

Thank you so much. We have loved our time here and it will always
be treasured in our memories. Here we spent such precious time with
our Irish mate Sean. Here we explored the land of our ancestors for
whom this was home before the immigration to Australia. Your
kindness, hospitality and generosity were truly wonderful.

What a gem of a cottage. Even though the weather wasn't kind, after

home to!..You've done a fantastic job of restoring wren cottage!

Great week. Spectacular scenery - has it all - mountains, lakes and
coast. wet weather made it all the more spectacular - water flowing
off the hills, the rivers overflowing - brilliant..

Lovely little cottage, fantastic idyllic setting. Enjoyed sightseeing
from the cottage. No sighting of the red deer though!

What a great place. I thought we lived in paradise but this equals it,
no - it might just be better than paradise. Wish we could take the
cottage back to NZ. Thanks for a great week.

Ate the leg of lamb
Enjoyed the sound of Ireland in a dingle pub
Crossed the Healy pass

A wonderful week in Wren cottage. My grandmothers phrase"living
in gods pocket" comes to mind.
Linda and rob Ryan, Colchester, Essex, UK. 5/8/06
The word "cottage" conjures up many idyllic images - thatched roof,
whitewashed walls, a white picket fence and a stream bubbling at
the bottom of the garden..
Wren cottage has all these and more. We have both thoroughly
enjoyed our stay and many thanks to both Malcolm and Carmel for
your hospitality and for coming around to alert us to the Red deer at
the back of the cottage this morning - we had a great view from the
window. Hope to see you again and we will certainly recommend
Wren cottage to family and friends.

Beautiful, homely cottage, felt like home right away! Enjoyed
Killarney to Cork to Bantry and in between. Everything was
wonderful except the weather was too warm! We were packed and
hoping for cool weather and rain. In spite of the weather we've
had a wonderful time.
Thank-you Malcolm & Carmel, you've done a wonderful job here.

A little gem in Kerry. We spent a wonderful week in this delightful
cottage, a quality place to stay. The warm welcome, the inspired
refurbishment and the deliciously comfortable beds on the inside,
to the bubbling stream on the deck and the views of the hills on
the outside make this cottage a dream. We have visited Ireland
each Spring for years, usually somewhere on the West and this is
the best yet.

Wren Cottage, where the 18th century stone and thatch charm
meets 21st century underfloor heating and 5 star luxury. And
don't get me started on the views - nothing between you and the
mountains except gods green earth and the sound of the stream
bubbling past the back door. Oh, and its so beautifully clean.
Thank you Carmel and Malcolm for a wonderful stay

The countryside and the cottage were both the stars of our stay. We
hiked up Torc mountain on a clear day and drove to the end of the
dingle peninsula - both highly recomended. Mixed weather as
expected, but we still got the BBQ up one afternoon. Killarney races
is also a must if your lucky enough to be here when its on. All in all
10/10, a great week

Probably the best place to stay in Ireland. Especially the children
enjoyed the stream. There might be some additional stones......
(Don't worry, the water didn't get too high)
A charming cottage for young and old. We loved it as you could
see on the picture.

After long days it was always a delight to return to Wren cottage.
We'd especially recommend Helens coffee house main road
carhersiveen (ring of Kerry) Dingle bay hotel - for fresh scones.
Aghadoe Heights hotel , Lake Room (restaurant) for fantastic
views, for a special meal (not cheap!). Lastly climb torc mountain
on a clear day,  a tough walk but well worth it  for view at the end.

We've seen so much and done a lot. Walking, Golfing, a trip to

Wren Cottage. A lovely quiet place near all tourist activities.

Thank you for a little piece of heaven in Wren cottage. We
have been clicking on the stream on your web site for months
in anticipation and now we are actually here and loving sitting
in the sun by the bubbling stream and looking across the field
of horses to the hills.
We have enjoyed the most amazing time – it is all so incredibly
beautiful. We have loved the changing light of the different
weathers and returning to beautiful Wren cottage with the
scent of the honeysuckle as evening falls.
We will return home renewed in body, mind and spirit with
memories of the jaunting car and walking in Mucross and Ross
castle, boating on Killarney lakes, finding the highest point for
stunning views and photos of the Ring of kerry, relaxing treats
at the amazing spa at Aghadoe Heights, choppy seas and
nearly reaching Skellig, then comforting ourselves with Skellig
Strawberry and Champagne chocolate!
We are taking home beautiful handcrafted glass from just
along the road (Kerry Glass)
Thank you for the warm welcome and delicious scones and
wine and for  so beautifully restoring and sharing this very
special place.
We give it hundreds of shining twinkling stars.
